When you have low mood, exercise often seems like the last thing you want to do. But once you get motivated, exercise can make a big difference.
Gain confidence - Look better - Get fitter
Here's Why You Should Exercise!
Regular exercise can boost your mood, it should be something you enjoy; otherwise, it will be hard to find the motivation to do it regularly.
Sorting your head out is rarely just about changing one thing in your life, so it follows just exercise alone won’t be some kind of magic cure.
But there are some good reasons it could help. Here’s how:
- Exercise is thought to increase the levels of endorphins, serotonin, and other chemical messengers in your brain and generally put you in a better mood.
- It also increases blood flow to the brain and causes our muscles to relax, making it easier to sleep – and sleep is a key factor in dealing with life generally.
- Getting a fitter body can boost your self-confidence and make you feel better about yourself.
- We know it’s hard to drag yourself away from the revision timetable, but exercise could really help if you’re in brain-melt mode over an exam. It will clear your head and calm you down – there’s even evidence it might improve your brain’s performance.
About The Coach
Just who is this Umberto Massimino guy? No, he’s not a model, or a steroid junkie. He’s a fit, focused, fully qualified personal trainer. But that’s now... Growing up in Italy, Umberto was your typical, out-of-shape young man. Overlooked by the ladies and mocked by the jocks, his confidence suffered and he secretly dreamt of having an amazing body with a solid six-pack. The dream slipped further out of reach when he moved to London in 2007 and hopped on to the work-hard/play harder treadmill of long hours and full-on socializing.
